What is it..?

Well I thought I might stump everyone with that mystery object - in fact I only had one entry who thought it was a rowlock off a rowing boat. In fact the item was a coin used in Africa at the time of the slave trade. It's design allowed it to be carried in large numbers of a convenient tree branch! This one went down in a slaving ship so never reached Africa.

This month's object is green and white enamel - what was it used for?

All winning answers will be placed in the draw for a bottle of wine - so if you can guess give me a ring on Rotherham 365791. Henry Tompkin
